The Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Max Kepler on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to patellar tendinitis in his right knee.

The move is retroactive to Wednesday. Kepler has not played since getting hurt while running out an infield single in the fourth inning of Monday's 11-1 win at Miami.

Kepler, 30, is batting .125 (2-for-16) with one homer and one RBI through four games this season. He is a career .232 hitter with 130 home runs and 401 RBIs in 841 games since making his debut with the Twins in 2015.

Minnesota recalled outfielder Matt Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul to replace Kepler on the 26-man roster. Wallner is batting .300 with one homer and six RBIs in five games with the Saints.

Wallner, 25, made his major league debut last September and batted .228 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 18 games with the Twins.
