In the lead up to the unveiling of MLB Pipeline's 2024 top-100 prospects, MLB.com has been releasing top-10 prospect rankings position-by-position and on Thursday the ten best outfielders were released.

Minnesota Twins super prospect Walker Jenkins cracked the list.

Jenkins, who some believe could be the best prospect in baseball by the time 2024 is over, is No. 5 on the list of the top-10 outfield prospects by MLB Pipeline. That's a rise up the board after he was the ninth-ranked outfielder after being drafted fifth overall by the Twins in 2023.

The new top 10:

  1. Jackson Chourio, Brewers (2024)
  2. Evan Carter, Rangers (2024)
  3. Wyatt Langford, Ranger (2024)
  4. Dylan Crews, Nationals (2024)
  5. Walker Jenkins, Twins (2026)
  6. Max Clark, Tigers (2026)
  7. James Wood, Nationals (2024)
  8. Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs (2024)
  9. Colton Cowser, Orioles (2024)
  10. Roman Anthony, Red Sox (2025)

Jenkins slashed .362/.417/.571 in 105 at-bats across rookie league and Single-A last summer, hitting three home runs and driving in 22 runs while striking out just 14 times in 26 games.

Last year, Jenkins was ranked 16th overall regardless of position and ninth among outfielders. The outfielders ranked ahead of him in '23 were Clark, Cowser, Langford, Crow-Armstrong, Carter, Wood, Crews and Chourio.

That means he passed up Clark, Wood, Crow-Armstrong and Cowser.

What's more is that Jenkins doesn't turn 19 years old until Feb. 19. He's the second youngest in the top 10. Chourio, who turns 19 in March, is the only one on the list younger than Jenkins and he just so happens to be at the top of the list and could make his MLB debut this season.

Jenkins, meanwhile, isn't expected to reach the big leagues until 2026.
