As the Diamondbacks return to Arizona for their first home World Series games since 2001, the evening will kick off with a nostalgic touch as two legendary figures, Hall of Famer Randy Johnson and the 2001 World Series hero Luis Gonzales, take the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In 2001, the Diamondbacks won all four home games during the World Series.

Throughout these four games, the Diamondbacks outscored the Yankees 38-4.

Meanwhile, so far this postseason in 2023, the Diamondbacks are 3-1.

Other Arizona legends that have tossed the first pitch at Chase Field this year include Michael Phelps and Larry Fitzgerald.

First pitch for Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at 5:03 PM Arizona time.
