Two Giants games postponed after someone in organization tests positive for COVID-19

The Giants and San Diego Padres didn't play on Friday night after an unidentified member of San Francisco's organization tested positive for the coronavirus.

San Francisco and Major League Baseball also announced that Saturday's game between the Giants and Padres at Petco Park also has been postponed.

ESPN notes Friday's game was called off just moments before the first pitch. Both teams took the field for a moment of silence for the victims of September 11 and the national anthem. The Padres then didn't take the field for the first pitch, and the game was called off.

The postponement marks the first time either team has had a game rescheduled due to the coronavirus. MLB has seen 43 games postponed this season because of COVID-19.
