As the Chicago Cubs continue to operate their offseason plans, they don't appear to be finished, with Jed Hoyer hinting more moves are coming.

They were able to land a rotation upgrade with Shota Imanaga and addressed a position of need and added a bullpen piece in one trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

But, while this would be a solid winter, it wouldn't quite live up to the insinuations ownership and the front office stated at the beginning when they implied they would land some stars.

There are plenty of high-profile players still out there on the market, with their former slugger Cody Bellinger being an obvious connection.

The Cubs continue to be interested in bringing back the left-handed slugger, especially as his market value has seemingly begun to crumble with him not landing the monster contract he was projected to get.

Chicago isn't the only team monitoring the former MVP however, as Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY says there are two others who are focusing their attention on him as well.

"If Cody Bellinger does not wind up back with the Chicago Cubs, the Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners are lurking," he reports.

The Toronto Blue Jays have long been seen as a real option for Bellinger this offseason with them looking for more power in their lineup and having money to spend.

The Seattle Mariners are a relatively new team to emerge.

They have had a fairly quiet offseason themselves and could view the versatile defender and slugger as a way to improve their roster. With Teoscar Hernandez leaving in free agency as well, they have an outfield position to fill.

The Cubs seem to be the frontrunners to sign Bellinger with their star shortstop saying he wants him back.

But there are other teams out there also interested in the slugger, and they could get outbid if they aren't aggressive.
