Identical twin brothers Taylor and Tyler Rogers are both lucky enough to have made it to Major League Baseball.

Both of them have turned into viable relief pitchers over the past few years.

Taylor had been the closer with the Minnesota Twins for some time but has since been traded to the San Diego Padres.

Tyler, a member of the San Francisco Giants, now has the opportunity to play in the same division as his brother.

Last night, before the Giants and Padres squared off, each brother delivered the lineup card for their respective teams.

But something else happened too later in the game, as both Tyler and Taylor made relief appearances.

Twins Making History

This is the first time since 1990 that two twins have appeared in the same game.

Back then it was Jose and Ozzie Canseco.

Eddie and Johnny O’Brien did it in 1953, and 1955-58.

The Rogers brothers made a little bit of history last night.

This is cool to see and something that you obviously don’t see every day.

It’s also something we may see again at various points this season as the Padres and Giants are scheduled to play 18 more games against each other in 2022.

This is so rare that you have to enjoy every time it happens.

We might see it more frequently this year since these two teams are in the same division.

Tyler took the loss in the matchup between the two identical brothers, with Taylor locking down the save as the Padres defeated the Giants by a final of 4-2.

The idea of these pitchers appearing in the same game more frequently is exciting to think about.

We’ll see if the Giants and Padres feel the same way.
