The St. Louis Cardinals have some intriguing prospects in the minor leagues.

Top prospects like Masyn Winn, Tink Hence, or Chase Davis have garnered most of the headlines this season, but there are some other very interesting young players in the Cardinals' farm system. One player Cardinals fans should be keeping their eyes on is young outfielder Moisés Gómez. The 25-year-old is one of just two minor leaguers to club 30 or more home runs in the last two seasons, according to the Memphis Redbirds.

"Cardinals No. 24 prospect Moisés Gómez is one of two Minor Leaguers to hit at least 30 homers in each of the past two seasons," the club said.

Gómez signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent in 2015 and made his professional debut with the club's Venezuelan Summer League as a 16-year-old. The young slugger remained with the organization until signing with the Cardinals as a free agent ahead of the 2022 campaign. Gómez quickly has risen up the St. Louis farm system and currently is the club's 24th-ranked prospect.

In his first year in the Cardinals' organization, Gómez spent time with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals and Triple-A Memphis Redbirds and clubbed 39 home runs along with 94 RBIs. Gómez has spent the entire 2023 campaign with the Redbirds and has impressed once again launching 30 home runs and driving in 75 runs.

St. Louis has a logjam in the outfield, but Gómez could be an intriguing option thanks to his power. If the Cardinals deal away some of their outfield depth as expected this season, maybe Gómez could make his big league debut in 2024. St. Louis also could opt to deal the young slugger in a trade package for a starting pitcher. He has impressed since joining the Cardinals and it's exciting to see what he will do next.
