Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is here to chew bubblegum and get into great shape … and he’s all out of bubblegum.

Guerrero’s trainer Jose Fortuna revealed this week the crazy amount of weight that the Toronto Blue Jays slugger has lost this offseason.

“Thanks to God for giving me the opportunity of working with Vladdy Jr,” said Fortuna, per baseball insider Hector Gomez. “In just one month, we achieved the goal that we set for ourselves. With all of Vladdy Jr.’s hard work and dedication he was able to drop from 261 to 239 pounds”.

A 22-pound weight loss in one offseason is definitely no joke for Guerrero, who just turned 23. He had a monstrous 2021 season with 48 home runs, 111 RBIs, and a 1.002 OPS, all while playing at a listed weight of 250 pounds.

We recently saw pictures of Guerrero where his weight loss was apparent. The All-Star phenom has been putting the work in this offseason, and sounds ready to more than ready to pulverize more baseballs in 2022.
