Oakland A’s pitcher Jesus Luzardo showed off his glove skills in a big way Tuesday night with a brilliant defensive play against the Texas Rangers.

Rangers center fielder Scott Heineman chopped a ball off home plate. It soared into the air, beyond the pitcher’s mound. Luzardo, tracking it off the bat, somehow managed to get to it before it dropped and fired a dart to first to throw Heineman out.

You don’t see plays like that every night. Just a beautiful all-around effort from Luzardo to shut down the inning.
