Watch: Blue Jays pitching coach has bizarre ejection during mound visit

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah made his second start since returning Major League roster on Tuesday night and it did not go very well as he was lifted after just three innings.

That is still one inning longer than Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker lasted against the San Diego Padres.

Walker was ejected in the bottom of the second inning during a bizarre encounter on the pitcher's mound.

Walker was making a visit to talk to Manoah, and as home plate umpire Malachi Moore made his way to the mound to break things up Walker continued to speak to his pitcher with his mouth covered. He apparently said something that was directed at Moore—without making eye contact—and was ejected.

Have a look.

It was a strange visual given that Walker was not even looking at Moore.

Walker and the Blue Jays dugout were not happy with some calls in the first inning of the game, and this was no doubt a carryover from those complaints.

Manoah allowed four runs in three innings on 92 pitches before being removed.

It was a big step backward following his return to the Blue Jays rotation over a week ago when he struck out eight batters and allowed just a single earned run.
