Watch: Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte sets MLB record for longest postseason hitting streak

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte made some history on Saturday night when he ripped a bases-loaded single up the middle to boost his team's lead in Game 2 of the World Series.

With that hit Marte, extended his postseason hitting streak to 18 consecutive games, setting a Major League Baseball record for the longest postseason hitting streak in league history.

Here is a look at the hit.

Marte not only has a hit in all 14 of the Diamondbacks' playoff games this season, he has recorded at least one hit in every single postseason game he has played in his career.

He also hit safely in all four Diamondbacks playoff games during the 2017 postseason, when the team won a wild-card game over the Colorado Rockies and then lost in three games in the NLDS to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Marte has been a key part of the Diamondbacks rebuild over the past few years and is getting an opportunity to shine on baseball's biggest stage. He is taking full advantage of it.

Marte has also proven to be a clutch player in the playoffs, hitting over .360 with an OPS over 1.000 in his 18 postseason games.
