Forrest Wall has ran a long road to make it to Major League Baseball.

Originally a 1st round pick out of high school in 2014 by the Colorado Rockies, Wall has played more than 800 minor league games for four different organizations before finally making it to "The Show".

Appearing in his 4th game of the season, Wall's been a pinch runner (he stole two bases on two pitches in the 9th inning against Milwaukee) and a defensive replacement, but was 0-2 on the season entering today.

Well, not anymore.

The 27 year-old outfielder finally picked up his first MLB hit in the 9th inning of today's game, in a most unusual fashion. With position player Danny Mendick pitching in a 18-3 game, Wall took a first pitch "slider" and sent it down the 1st base line towards a waiting Pete Alonso.

Pete had to keep on waiting for it, as the ball hit the 1st base bag and ricocheted up in the air and over Alonzo to end up in right field.

It's probably not the way that he envisioned it happening, but there's no style points in baseball. The Braves dugout made a point to get the ball for Wall, where it will be authenticated and presented to him as a souvenir of possibly the most unique first MLB hit of all time.

Wall would later score on a MAMMOTH home run to the upper deck in right field by infielder Nicky Lopez, who got his first start of his Braves tenure and punctuated it by going 4-6 with three runs, five RBIs, and one MASSIVE homer.

The Braves went on to win game one, 21-3, and look forward to securing a series win this evening with Spencer Strider on the mound.
