Watch: Giant bubble briefly delays Dodgers-Tigers game

Baseball games get delayed for various reasons, whether due to rain, a wild animal, or a wild fan. However, the brief stoppage during Wednesday's Los Angeles Dodgers-Detroit Tigers game might take the cake.

With the Tigers up to bat, leading 1-0 in the third inning, play had to be halted momentarily while a gigantic bubble floated above the field at Dodger Stadium.

The enormous curiosity was gone as soon as it was spotted, popping into the air, never to be seen again. Nevertheless, it will probably go down in baseball history as the first bubble to stop a major league game, albeit for only a few seconds.

Oddly enough, this isn't the first time bubbles have graced Dodger Stadium. In 2014, the Dodgers used their own bubble machine as a rallying cry en route to winning the National League West division.

While this year's Dodgers hope a little of that luck rubs off on them, they'll strive for a better finish. The 2014 season ended for the Dodgers in the NL Division Series, falling to the St. Louis Cardinals in four games.
