The Houston Astros took the lead against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday after outfielder Chas McCormick blasted his first home run of the season. That two-run home run gave Houston a 2-0 lead.

McCormick's home run travelled 368 feet, came off the bat at 100-mph, and had a launch angle of 40 degrees.

It wasn't the hardest or farthest hit ball, but it did enough to clear the left-center field wall at Minute Maid Park,

The Astros will take it as it gives them a lead over the Tigers, something they have had trouble producing throughout the series.

Houston will try to avoid the sweep by Detroit before setting off on a road trip that will begin in Minnesota against the Twins on Friday. It was originally slated for Thursday, but the game has been postponed due to weather.
