A fan attending Game 5 of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros on Sunday night chose his beers over his safety and got a bruise as a result.

Yordan Alvarez homered in the top of the second inning to put Houston up 2-0. His home run ball nailed a Nats fan who was holding beers and tried to knock the ball down with his body instead:

It’s hard to argue with his logic; those beers probably cost a fortune.

There is some brighter news to this story as the fan did end up with the home run ball.

He took quite a hit just to get the ball but at least got the souvenir and did not drop the beverages. Impressive!
