Watch: Phillies' Bryson Stott makes unbelievable sliding grab in foul territory

In a battle Wednesday against National League East rivals, the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott pulled out all the stops trying to get a victory.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Braves threatened with runners on the corners and two outs, but Stott closed things out with a Gold Glove-worthy play. Stott covered a ton of ground to track down an Austin Riley foul ball behind the first base bag, sliding to make a miraculous grab before banging into the barricade separating the fans from the diamond.

Entering play Wednesday, Stott had the fourth-highest fielding percentage (.991) in all of baseball among second baseman, trailing only Miami Marlins' Luis Arraez (.992), New York Mets' Jeff McNeil (.994) and Kansas City Royals' Michael Massey (.995).

Stott has also been a vital piece of the Phillies offense, slashing .288/.335/.436 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI.

The former 2019 first-round pick (14th) went 1-for-4 with an RBI in the Phillies 4-1 loss to the Braves Wednesday. However, at 25-year-old, Stott looks to have solidified his spot at second. With Stott alongside star shortstop Trea Turner, the Phillies could have a formidable middle-infield duo for years to come.
