Watch: Phillies' J.T. Realmuto hits inside-the-park home run against Braves
There are few plays in baseball more exciting than an inside-the-park home run.
When one happens in a playoff game -- and a possible elimination game -- they become even better.
That is what Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto did on Saturday afternoon in Game 4 of the NLDS to give his team a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Realmuto hit an absolute rocket to deep left center field that bounced off the wall above Braves centerfielder Michael Harris II It then took an odd bounce and rolled all the way across centerfield allowing Realmuto to sprint around the bases.
It was a definite tough play for Harris, but he did not get much help from right fielder Ronald Acuna who did not really move much on the play to back it up.
You are not going to see many catchers have the speed to hit an inside-the-park home run, but Realmuto is one of the most athletic and fastest catchers in the league. It was no sweat for him.
The Phillies entered Saturday's game with a 2-1 series lead over the defending World Series champions and have a chance to eliminate them to advance to their first National League Championship Series since the 2010 season.
