Watch: Royals rookie Vinnie Pasquantino watches his 8th grade presidential election speech
Kansas City Royals rookie Vinnie Pasquantino is currently on the injured list with a shoulder issue, but through 175 big league at-bats covering 49 games thus far, the highly-touted prospect has looked the part of a possible future star. Since being called up in late June, the first baseman has eight home runs and recorded a .263/.350/.434 slash line.
Pasquantino recently appeared on "The Home Stand" podcast with host Carrie Lippert-Gillaspie and discussed his rookie campaign and rise to "the show." As it turns out, when the 24-year-old was a young teenager, he was showing possible signs of a future in politics.
It was reported earlier this week that Pasquantino was close to returning to action. His last game was Aug. 22 when he departed a 6-4 win against the Chicago White Sox after two plate appearances.
