Might as well have fun with it. Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Tuesday’s game against the Washington Nationals was a complete disaster for the New York Mets. But Jose Reyes pitching to Ryan Zimmerman gave us one entertaining moment.

The Mets brought in Reyes to pitch in the 25-4 blowout loss. It didn’t go terribly well for the veteran infielder. One of his many blemishes came when he hit Zimmerman with a pitch.

Zimmerman showed some sense of humor, though, doing a little shimmy and pretending to charge the mound before eventually taking his base.

Our only hope now is that this inspires a series of brushback pitches.
