The Twins opened the post All-Star break by scoring 20 runs in a three-game sweep of the A's and in the process made one fan's broadcaster's wish come true.

Former Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe was in the Twins TV broadcast booth this weekend and explained on air his pre-game conversation with Alex Kirilloff early in Sunday's 5-4 win.

"I feel like I need to mention this now," started Plouffe. "I was down in the clubhouse, it was 11:11 [a.m.], I was standing next to Kirilloff and I said, 'I'm going to use this wish right now for you.' I said, 'Please, I wish that Alex Kirilloff hits a homer today.' He said, 'If that happens, I'm going to point to you up in the press box.' So let's be on the lookout for that."

Two innings later, with the Twins down 3-1, Kirilloff slugged an opposite field home run – and as he trotted to home plate he pointed to a giddy Plouffe in the press box.

"Alright Mr. Plouffe, stand up so he sees you," Twins play-by-play announcer Dick Bremer said after finishing his home run call.

"He better point up here!" Plouffe exclaimed.

And then, with Justin Morneau, who was also in the broadcast booth, is saying, "11:11 make a wish," Kirilloff points to the broadcast booth fulfilling the pre-game wish.

"Yes! Oh my goodness, I am so happy right now. That was awesome," said Plouffe.
