The Chicago White Sox swapped out a pair of pitchers prior to Monday's series opener against the New York Yankees. The Sox added recent waiver claim Brent Honeywell to the roster and optioned Sammy Peralta to Triple-A Charlotte.

Honeywell began the season with the San Diego Padres and appeared in 36 games. The right-hander posted a 4.05 ERA, 1.371 WHIP, 42 strikeouts, and 20 walks in 46.2 innings before being designated for assignment.

To make room for Honeywell on the roster, the Sox sent Peralta back to Charlotte. The southpaw has appeared in five games for the Sox this season and owns a 4.15 ERA across 4.1 innings. Peralta rejoins the Knights, with whom he has a 5.34 ERA in 59 innings.

Welcome to the Circus

Honeywell joins a White Sox club that has plenty of buzz surrounding it, but not because of outstanding performances.

The Sox and Cleveland Guardians got into an all-out brawl on Saturday night that captured the attention of the entire sports world. Additionally, recently traded reliever Keynan Middleton blasted his former team's "no rules" culture in an interview that ESPN's Jesse Rogers published late Sunday night.

And as fate would have it, Middleton and the Yankees visit the South Side for a three-game series beginning Monday.
