White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger will not face discipline from league after investigation

Major League Baseball announced on Sunday that Chicago White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger will not face any discipline from the league following an investigation into domestic violence allegations.

The league said that it spoke with more than 15 individuals and reviewed thousands of electronic communications, and pending any newly found information will not be disciplining Clevinger.

The league also said in its statement that Clevinger voluntarily agreed to submit to evaluations by the joint treatment boards under the CBA and to comply with the boards recommendations.

Clevinger was being investigated after being accused of domestic abuse by the mother of one of his children that included Instagram photos of marks on her body.

Clevinger released a statement on Sunday following the announcement by the league.

"I am pleased that Major League Baseball has concluded its investigation," Clevinger said in a statement. "I had nothing to hide and cooperated fully with MLB. This situation has been stressful for my family, and I thank them for their strength and support. I asked everyone not to rush to judgement until MLB's investigation was concluded, and I appreciate everyone who had faith in me, including the White Sox organization and my teammates. "I am looking forward to the 2023 season and helping the White Sox win a championship this year."

He spent the 2020 and 2022 seasons with the San Diego Padres, while missing the 2021 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

He signed a one-year deal with the White Sox this winter.
