It’s another day that ends with “y”, which means the Chicago White Sox have another injury to announce. Prior to Wednesday’s series finale against the Detroit Tigers, the club placed RHP Kyle Crick on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 14) with right elbow inflammation. In a corresponding move, the Sox activated Vince Velasquez.

Vince Velasquez has been on the injured list since May 31 due to a left groin strain. The right-hander will start for the White Sox as they look to sweep the Tigers this afternoon. On the season, Velasquez owns a 2-3 record, 5.30 ERA, 5.10 FIP, and 33 strikeouts in 35.2 innings.

Kyle Crick becomes the latest Chicago White Sox pitcher to hit the injured list. On Tuesday, the club activated Joe Kelly as Liam Hendriks went down with a right forearm issue. Crick’s injury isn’t as initially concerning as Hendriks’, but the White Sox bullpen can use all the help they can get right now. The right-hander has a 4.02 ERA, 3.20 FIP, and 19 strikeouts in 15.2 innings across 14 games this season.
