White Sox's Lance Lynn confirms he'd hit Aaron Judge, others caught 'peeking'
Chicago White Sox starter Lance Lynn addressed the recent cheating allegations against New York Yankees star Aaron Judge on Wednesday, sharing what he would do if the slugger engaged in the same behavior while he was on the mound.
Lynn, a guest on Foul Territory, agreed with host A.J. Pierzynski that Judge or others caught peeking would receive "one in the ribs."
"That's the only way to stop it, I think," Lynn said.
Judge caught flack earlier this week when the Toronto Blue Jays announcing crew suggested the Yankees' wandering eyes were a sign of cheating.
He raised suspicions after he appeared to glance toward the New York dugout before immediately launching a hanging slider into the stands. After the game, Judge said he was looking to see who was "chirping" at the home plate umpire, a flimsy excuse that only fueled the allegations' fire.
Lynn said regardless of where Judge might've been looking, getting intel from first and third base coaches or the dugout isn't fair game in his eyes.
"If a guy's on base and he sees your grip from second, that's on you," Lynn said. "When players that are not on the field or coaches that are not playing the game are involved, I think it's too much."
The entire situation involving Judge is probably much to do about nothing. However, after baseball's rally against "sticky stuff," MLB may look into Judge and others who could be potentially benefiting from shady tactics at the plate.
