So far this offseason, the Arizona Diamondbacks have been fairly quiet.

Despite securing the services of a new power-hitting third baseman in Eugenio Suarez, the team has notably stayed away from the high-profile names that have recently entered free agency.

Big names such as Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger, Josh Hader, Jordan Montgomery, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto have dominated the headlines, but the Diamondbacks have yet to make a significant splash in these discussions.

While the financial considerations for these players may be substantial, it’s disheartening for fans not to witness the team’s pursuit of a marquee player.

Analyzing the front office’s approach, it becomes evident that the Diamondbacks are in the market for pitching and another outfielder. The emphasis is on acquiring talented players without breaking the bank.

Fortuitously for the Diamondbacks, an ideal candidate has recently become available on the trading block—Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena.

Not only does Arozarena bring a young electric spirit, which is something that the Diamondbacks have embraced as a team, but he brings a well-rounded style of play, blending power and speed seamlessly.

After putting on a show for the whole world to see in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Randy Arozarena recently wrapped up an All-Star season with the Rays.

Three seasons in a row, Arozarena has stolen at least 20 bases and hit at least 20 home runs, but even more importantly, he brings a clutch factor that the D-backs absolutely need.

In 2020, Randy went on a historical postseason hot streak for Tampa Bay.

During this postseason run alone, Arozarena picked up 8 multi-hit games, hit 10 home runs, and scored 19 runs.

Through a total of 128 postseason plate appearances, Arozarena boasts a remarkable .336 batting average, establishing himself as one of the most feared hitters in baseball when October arrives.

Although the Diamondbacks haven’t been explicitly linked to the 28-year-old in ongoing discussions, they have expressed a keen interest in bolstering their outfield.

Randy Arozarena, with his skill set and potential impact, aligns perfectly with the team’s financial parameters, making him an enticing target for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
