The wives of Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant are now playing a role in fueling speculation that the Washington Nationals superstar slugger could join fellow Las Vegas native and friend by signing with the Chicago Cubs.

Kayla Harper and Jess Bryant sat together and enjoyed the finale of the Nationals-Cubs three-game set at Wrigley Field. Both of them took to social media to add fuel to the fire that Harper could join the Cubs once he becomes a free agent following the 2018 season.

Jess posted an Instagram story captured by Busted Coverage in which she speculates on the Harper-to-Cubs rumors.

“Fans want it … & we are more than good with this idea …” the post read.

Kayla later upped the ante by posting a selfie with Jess featuring the hashtag “#HarperToTheCubs.”

There obviously is a long way to go before the offseason following the 2018 season and countless scenarios could play out that either further legitimize the Cubs as a viable option for Harper in free agency or discredit the notion entirely.

That said, even Harper and Bryant have lent credence to the belief that the former may join the latter in Chicago by posting similarly curious social media musings. With that in mind, the social media activities of the superstars’ wives may be more than simple trolling.
