Losing out on Shohei Ohtani this offseason has left a massive hole in the Angels lineup, but the front office is determined to field a competitive team going forward. They have some options that they can look into, and they are expected to be aggressive in trying to add talent.

MLB writer Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report has proposed a trade that would land the Halos with an All-Star infielder.

Los Angeles Angels Receive: 2B Brandon Lowe, Tampa Bay Rays Receive: RHP Chase Silseth and OF Jadiel Sanchez

Grabbing Lowe from the Rays would be a really strong move by the Angels, as he would help bring some offensive firepower to their lineup. Last season for Tampa Bay, he hit .231 with 21 home runs and 68 runs batted in.

Lowe still had three years of club control on his contract, with two team options in 2025 and 2026. He is on a very team-friendly deal, which is something that could entice the Angels to make the move.

"If the Angels are going to try to win immediately in the aftermath of losing Shohei Ohtani, Lowe could be an ideal target for them, as they need to add at least one more bat with some pop. Among current Angels, only Brandon Drury (26) had more home runs than Lowe (21) last season."

Per Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report

Losing Silseth would be tough on the Halos, but they have plenty of other arms that they can use in the rotation. The front office has been active in trying to add to their starting rotation this winter anyway, so this could be the team adding other areas around the roster.

"To make it happen, they part with Chase Silseth, who fits exactly into that starter/reliever tweener role Tampa Bay management seems to cherish. They would get a lot of use out of him in 2024 as they try to piece together a rotation beyond Zach Eflin and Aaron Civale."

This would be a move that could help the Halos be more competitive for next season and beyond. Lowe was an All-Star in 2019 and is still only 29 years old.
