The New York Yankees are continuing to add to the roster.

New York has been extremely busy this offseason and after missing out on multiple free-agent relievers, seems to have landed a hurler. The Yankees have been looking to build out the bullpen recently but missed out on reunions with Wandy Peralta and Keynan Middleton.

The Yankees clearly know that they needed to add to the bullpen and reportedly are acquiring hard-throwing lefty Caleb Ferguson in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.

"Caleb Ferguson is being traded to the Yankees," Heyman said.

The 27-year-old is a five-year big league veteran and was impressive last season with Los Angeles. Ferguson logged a 3.43 ERA in a career-high 68 appearances to go along with a 70-to-23 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Ferguson has a career 3.43 ERA in 201 total appearances with the Dodgers throughout his career so far. The big lefty shined in 2023 but was even more stellar in 2022. Ferguson only appeared in 37 games but had a minuscule 1.82 ERA and 37-to-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 34 2/3 innings pitched.

New York has needed some left-handed help for the bullpen -- especially after losing Peralta -- and Ferguson certainly can help. The Yankees have made it clear that they intend to contend in 2024 and have improved the roster this offseason.

The club focused on improving the outfield and starting rotation first and has been linked to a handful of relievers ever since. Ferguson is a very solid pickup for New York and it's unclear what the club will do next.
