The New York Yankees have questions to answer after one of their most disappointing seasons in recent history. After finishing 82-80, the expectation is for them to be a much better team than they were last year.

Moves have been made to better the roster and others could be on the way. Notably, the Yankees have added Juan Soto and Marcus Stroman, among others. Factor those additions in with a healthy Aaron Judge and an improved Carlos Rodon, New York has something to be excited about with this roster.

There is pressure, however.

According to Will Leitch of MLB.com, the Yankees are one of six teams facing a make-or-break season.

Leitch writes that New York has brought back most of their front office staff, manager, and head of baseball operations. He adds that if they perform as they did in 2023, that may not happen after this season.

However, it should be remembered that New York hasn't made sweeping changes under the ownership of Hal Steinbrenner, now matter how bad the performances have been and how much pressure the fans place upon him.

Still, It's fair to say that the Yankees are facing a make-or-break year after the performance they put together last season. Soto, Judge, and Gerrit Cole are three pieces they can build around that should help get the franchise back on track.

Leitch does add that if it doesn't work this season, Soto could be on the way out in free agency.

Focusing on winning a World Series will always be the goal, but assuring that Soto is happy and wants to stay in the Bronx might be just as important.
