Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu out Saturday against Red Sox with hip/groin issue

New York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox with a hip/groin issue, manager Aaron Boone told reporters, including SNY's Ryan Morik.

"Last night [it] was kind of holding him back a little bit. He's pretty beat up after last night's game. Hopefully something that the day will help him out and be back in there," Boone said.

Boone added LeMahieu has been dealing with the issue for the "last couple weeks." With the 33-year-old out, the Yankees are starting Rougned Odor at shortstop.

LeMahieu is having a solid season for the Bronx Bombers, hitting .268/.349/.363 with 10 home runs and 56 RBI in 146 games.

New York won the first game of this weekend's series against Boston 8-3 behind a six-strikeout performance from ace Gerrit Cole. The Yankees are 87-67, third in the AL East, one game behind the Red Sox for the top wild-card spot.
