A bump in the road.

Yankees reliever Lou Trivino suffered a setback in his rehab, per manager Aaron Boone.

Trivino has been on the IL since Spring Training with an elbow ligament sprain.

According to Boone, Trivino experienced elbow pain during his latest live session in Tampa. He will travel to New York to get checked out by the team doctor.

This setback puts Trivino’s season in jeopardy if he has structural damage.

The Yankees acquired Trivino from the Oakland Athletics in the Frankie Montas deal at the trade deadline.

Trivino was solid for the Yankees down the stretch of last season, but he has not been able to stay healthy in his first full season in the Bronx.

Another injured Yankees’ reliever, Tommy Kahnle, is traveling with the team on their road trip. The plan is for him to throw a bullpen off the mound while the team is in Texas.

Kahnle went on the IL in Spring Training with right biceps tendinitis.
