New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe wrapped up his rookie campaign with a pre-arbitration bonus, based on their play for the 2023 season.

Volpe took home a $246,549 bonus, which was the lowest of the bonuses handed out on Monday.

Volpe claimed his first Gold Glove in November, beating out Corey Seager of the Texas Rangers and Carlos Correa of the Minnesota Twins.

Volpe played 159 games during his rookie season with the Yankees and finished with a fielding percentage of .970. He had 357 assists and 17 errors. Plus, he helped turn 63 double plays. He also had 15 defensive runs saved.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Volpe is the first rookie in Yankees history to win a Gold Glove Award. He is also the youngest shortstop to win the award and the second Yankees shortstop to win the award, joining Derek Jeter.

Payments from a $50 million pool went to 101 players who didn’t have the service time for salary arbitration for 2022, which was two years, 228 days.

Players can receive bonus money for at least one award per season, with the rest of the money dispersed based on a WAR formula.

Those awards include $2.5 million for winning a MVP or Cy Young Award; $1.75 million for second in the voting; $1.5 million for third; $1 million for fourth, fifth or selection to the all-MLB first team; $750,000 for Rookie of the Year; and $500,000 for second in Rookie of the Year voting or all-MLB second team.
