Yuli Gurriel is a pretty accomplished baseball player, but he thinks his brother could be even better.

Gurriel’s brother, Lourdes, was called up by the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday and is set to start at second base. It’s an impressive jump for Lourdes, who is going straight from Double-A to the majors.

Asked on Friday about his brother, Yuli was extremely complimentary.

The 24-year-old was batting .347 with an .895 OPS in 12 games for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Incidentally, the Fisher Cats were loaded with offensive talent, boasting players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Cavan Biggio — all sons of former MLB All-Stars.

Yuli, 34, went from Cuba to the majors and is a career .290 hitter with an .809 OPS. If Lourdes is a better all-around player, he’s an All-Star in the making.
