Angels Owner Arte Moreno Fully Participates In First Media Session In 3 Years
USA TODAY Sports

Over the past year-and-a-half, Arte Moreno has tried his best stay out of the public eye and avoid a lot of media coverage. He was one of the most scrutinized and questioned members of the Los Angeles Angels due to a strange era where he was indecisive about selling the franchise.

There were reportedly multiple offers that caught his eye and the profits were said to be historical numbers. However, Moreno finally decided it was time to tell the world the real story and he did so in an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci.

We learned all kinds of details we had been pondering such as Moreno's initial plans to sign Trea Turner, what stopped him from dealing the Angels, and his plans to make it to the postseason again. That was the most we had gotten out of him in quite some time.

However, it appears that the 76-year-old owner has come back around for round two as he took part in a media session with just three reporters for the first time in three years. This news was first shared by The Athletic's Sam Blum.

"Arte Moreno did a media availability today with the three local reporters in attendance. His first such scrum in three years."

"Credit to him for finally making that decision. He took every question asked to him. I will have a full transcript up at @TheAthletic soon."

With the future uncertain in LA for superstar Shohei Ohtani and the frustrated comments about losing from Mike Trout being revealed recently, this media scrum will likely help us learn more about the team's state.
