Christian Yelich Keeps Making History Against The Reds

Though the Milwaukee Brewers ultimately lost two out of three in their series against the Cincinnati Reds, there was a bright spot in Wednesday’s game.

That bright spot was courtesy of slugger Christian Yelich, who went 4-for-5 and hit for the cycle for the third time in his career.

The Reds won by a final of 14-11 to secure their second straight series win, but they could not contain Yelich.

In fact, this is the third time Yelich has hit for the cycle in his career and interestingly enough, his other two cycles were also against the Reds, as mentioned in the tweet below.

Yelich is the only player in baseball to have had all three cycles against the same team.

Sometimes you see the other team’s jersey and know that you’re locked in.

The Reds are that team for Yelich.

They’ve had a lot of trouble slowing him down when he gets hot and the same could be said for yesterday’s game.

Yelich is hitting .259 with five homers and 20 RBIs to start the 2022 season.

He’s had a down couple of years, but now he looks like himself again, the guy who won the NL MVP Award in 2018, his first year with the Brewers.

Perhaps another game against the Reds got him going again to the point where he managed to hit for the cycle again.

Sometimes all it takes is a game against a team you’ve been locked in against your whole career.

But for him to have owned the Reds like this is impressive.

One would think that the Reds might start trying to pitch him more carefully next time around.
