The World Baseball Classic will be back for the first time since 2017 next year.

After COVID-19 put it on hold in 2021, the Classic is finally returning.

Team USA is going to have a stacked roster this go around.

They won the Classic back in 2017 led by Jim Leyland.

With players such as Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Pete Alonso, and others, Team USA looks ready to win it again.

What we weren’t yet privy to was who the manager of Team USA was going to be, but today, we finally have out answer.

According to Jon Morosi, former MLB star Mark DeRosa will be the one to manage Team USA.

DeRosa To Manage Team USA

DeRosa played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals, and Toronto Blue Jays.

He finished his career with a 10.6 WAR, a lifetime .268 batting average, and 100 career home runs.

He was a part of the Braves’ 1999 World Series team and won a ring with the Giants in 2010.

DeRosa is currently an analyst with MLB Network.

He retired after the 2013 season.

DeRosa will have a stacked roster with a ton of star players when the World Baseball Classic finally returns.

In addition to Alonso, Goldschmidt, and Arenado, he’ll have guys like Mike Trout, J.T. Realmuto, Trevor Story, and his former teammate Bryce Harper, who he played with in 2012 when Harper was in his rookie season.

More players are soon to follow, but for now, we at least know who is going to manage Team USA.

DeRosa was a well-traveled and well-respected MLB veteran who has been around some talented ballplayers, and he should fit right in as the team’s manager.
