Indians once again replace Jose Ramirez with Mike Freeman in lineup

Cleveland Indians two-time All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez is heading back to the bench for another night in place of Mike Freeman.

The Indians confirmed on Thursday that Ramirez, who is dealing with a bruise on his left hand, won't start for Thursday's series finale versus the Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field:

Ramirez is listed as day-to-day and missed Tuesday's tilt against Kansas City but returned to the lineup for Wednesday's outing. While southpaw Danny Duffy started for the Royals on Wednesday, right-hander Brady Singer is getting the ball for Thursday.

Indians team president Chris Antonetti recently told reporters that Ramirez's injury affects him more swinging from the left side than right-handed. Ramirez went 0-for-2 with a walk on Wednesday.

Ramirez, 27, leads the Tribe in home runs (9), RBI (26), stolen bases (9), runs scored (31), and wins above replacement (1.0).
