The New York Mets have added some new advertising in Citi Field, and it’s not going over too well with the fan base.
The Mets added foul pole advertisements sponsored by Chick-fil-A. The left field pole says “Root 4 tha chikin” and the right field pole says “chikinz way fair.”

Not only do many Mets fans feel annoyed that the team is selling more advertising without seemingly investing in the actual on-field product, but many also noticed that the ads will result in obstructed views for some fans.

The Mets having ads on their foul poles isn’t unprecedented; the Dodgers have them too, though they aren’t as obstructive. The Houston Astros also have Chick-fil-A ads on their foul poles. The difference is those are World Series teams and probably have earned more leeway from the fans; the Mets aren’t, so this seems like the latest public relations hit for them.
