The Milwaukee Brewers have been historically great on the mound over their last eight games. They are the first team in league’s history to have an eight-game span in the regular season with an 8-0 record, 85+ strikeouts, fewer than 45 hits allowed, and fewer than 15 runs allowed.
Starting Pitcher Quinn Priester made history in his own right in last night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is the first pitcher with 10+ strikeouts and no walks against the Dodgers in nearly two years. Will the pitching staff of the Milwaukee Brewers continue making history?

It has been a strong season for the Milwaukee Brewers. They occupy the top spot in the National League wild card race. Milwaukee’s offense has been middling. They are 15th in the league in batting average , 23rd in home runs, and eighth in runs scored. Right Fielder Sal Frelick is 13th in the league in batting average. Left Fielder Christian Yelich is top 20 in the league in home runs and RBI.
As has been on display over their last eight games, Milwaukee’s pitching staff is top-notch. They are fifth in team ERA, fifth in opposing batting average, and 11th in WHIP. Starting Pitcher Freddy Peralta had a great first half of the regular season. He is tied for the league lead in wins, 13th in ERA, and 16th in WHIP. Closer Trevor Megill is fourth in the league in saves and Abner Uribe has the most holds.
Milwaukee’s pitching staff will look to continue making history against a potent Dodgers lineup. They will send Peralta to the mound in tonight’s matchup. If the Milwaukee Brewers can continue pitching this well, it could be a successful summer up in Wisconsin.
