Pirates' Will Craig on blunder: 'I guess I'm going to be on the blooper reels for the rest of my life'

Pittsburgh Pirates rookie first baseman Will Craig committed a fielding mistake that will live on for generations to come in the top of the third inning of Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs when all he had to do was step on the bag to finish the frame:

Ahead of Friday's scheduled home game against the Colorado Rockies that was ultimately rained out, the 26-year-old admitted he understands few will forget what they saw either live or via viral online videos.

"I guess I'm going to be on the blooper reels for the rest of my life," he said, per The Associated Press (h/t ESPN).

The Pirates began Friday evening 18-31 and in dead last in the National League Central standings, but it's hard to imagine things will get any worse during what's likely to be another lost season than this:

"It all boils down to me losing my brain for a second," Craig added. "I take full responsibility for it and now will just try to keep moving forward. I know I'm a good defensive player and I can do a lot of good things on that side of the ball."
