Recap: Dodgers Extend Winning Streak To 9 Games By Remaining Undefeated Against Twins In 2022

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the first-place Minnesota Twins, 10-3, to remain undefeated on their current homestand and extend a winning streak to a season-best nine games.

The Dodgers scored in each of the first four innings to give Julio Urías ample run support in what was another strong start. Scoring began when a two-out walk by Freddie Freeman was followed by Will Smith driving a grounder to the right-center field gap that rolled to the wall for an RBI double.

A string of hits by Gavin Lux, Joey Gallo and Cody Bellinger broke a tie and gave the Dodgers a 3-1 lead in the second inning. Trea Turner’s RBI bloop double then provided more insurance.

Max Muncy created more of a cushion with a solo home run in the fourth. Muncy has swung the bat well of late and has two homers in the past three games.

Turner collected his second RBI of the night on a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning, and more scoring came on Muncy’s double that brought Freeman home in the seventh. Justin Turner drove in his second run as well with a productive out.

Freeman sparked the rally with a leadoff single to give the Dodgers all nine starters with at least one hit.

Their final runs came in the eighth inning on a Trea Turner double and Smith base hit.

Urías allowed just one run over seven innings, which came on a misread ball that resulted in a triple that set up a swinging bunt for an RBI single. Since a disastrous outing against the Chicago Cubs on July 10, Urías has pitched at least six innings in all five starts.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers improved to 12-4 in Interleague play this season, tying with the Milwaukee Brewers for the best mark in baseball. L.A. has won all three games against Minnesota this year and conclude the season series on Wednesday.

Dodgers fans boo Carlos Correa

Predictably, Carlos Correa drew the ire of Dodgers fans throughout the night. He was booed during pregame introductions and each at-bat, including in between pitches. Fans also chanted “cheater” while Correa was at the plate.

Correa received the same treatment when the Houston Astros visited Dodger Stadium last year.
