Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom: Extension talks haven't 'aligned' with Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers

The Boston Red Sox are off to a 3-3 start in the 2022 regular season. What may still be on the minds of some fans in Red Sox Nation, though, is the team's failure to secure either of their two All-Stars on the left side of their infield via long-term contract extensions before the campaign kicked off.

Boston reportedly offered slugging third baseman Rafael Devers an extension in the $200 million range, but Devers was eyeing a deal worth "over $300 million." Three-time All-Star shortstop Xander Bogaerts also turned down an offer from the club and told reporters last week that he wouldn't be discussing the matter once the season began.

Chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom talked on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Morning Show" on Thursday and discussed extension talks that the team had with Bogaerts and Devers.
