While the American League East masquerades as the toughest division in all of baseball with four teams above the .500 mark, the American Central might just be the most interesting race of them all.

With the Cleveland Guardians falling to the Detroit Tigers in their game on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox won their games and inched to within a game of the Guardians in the division.

Cleveland took control of first place in the division not too long ago after the Twins had led for most of the year, but the White Sox have been hot lately and now the division is separated by one game among three teams.

A Wild Ride Ahead

This is going to be a fun race to watch as we move closer to the end of the season.

At least one of these teams may have their hearts broken at the end of the road.

The Twins and White Sox are both close in the AL Wild Card race as well, sitting just one game back of the Toronto Blue Jays.

It’s very possible that all three teams could reach the postseason, given that they’re all in close proximity of one another and two of the teams are right in the thick of the Wild Card race.

At this point, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see all three of these teams reach the postseason.

They’ll all be fighting out for the division title until the last day of the season.

Whoever doesn’t win will either have to settle for a Wild Card or will fall short of the postseason.

Things are getting interesting in this division.
