The 2020 MLB season is suspended , and with teams shutting down their facilities, athletes are forced to find ways to train on their own. Chicago Cubs star Willson Contreras did just that on Friday, finding a unique way to get in some batting practice.

The All-Star catcher and his brother William Contreras, a top catching prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization, went out to their driveway and showed off their unique routine. They take turns shooting baseballs with a toy gun, while the other gets in some swings.

The Cubs would certainly love to have their 27-year-old catcher at the team’s facilities training and preparing for the upcoming season. However, MLB had to take precautions to ensure safety from COVID-19 by postponing Opening Day and instructing teams to shut down their training facilities.

Fortunately, Contreras has found a way to keep himself in shape and get his swing mechanics ready for the season. The Braves will also probably love that their young catcher is learning from his brother’s All-Star work ethic. While this is an awesome and creative thing to see, let’s hope the players don’t have to do it for too much longer.
