Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will go down as one of the greatest players in Major League Baseball history when it is all said and done. That’s not hyperbole. Still only 29 years old, Trout has earned three MVP awards and is the most-feared hitter in all of baseball.

Houston Astros pitcher Brandon Bielak found that out first hand during Saturday’s game. With the Angels down 4-1 in the bottom of the third, Trout took to the plate. Boasting 299 career homers heading into that at-bat, the legend made history.

It came in the form of a 410-foot opposite field blast for Trout’s 300th career homer.

Not only did Trout reach that milestone, he passed another all-time Angels great -- Tim Salmon -- for the most homers in the history of the franchise.

In the midst of another banner season, Trout entered Saturday’s action hitting .276 with an American League high 14 homers to go with 36 RBI and a robust .998 OPS. He seems pretty good.
