New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino missed the pandemic-shortened season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in February 2020. Although he will miss part of the 2021 season, he provided a return timeline on Monday.
According to NJ.com's Brendan Kuty, Severino plans to return to the Yankees in June or July.

The Yankees previously mentioned late summer as their target time frame for Severino's return, so it appears the right-hander is optimistic that he's ahead of schedule.
During the 2019 campaign, the 27-year-old went 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA, 1.000 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 12 innings.
When he's healthy, Severino will rejoin a rotation that includes Gerrit Cole, Corey Kluber, Jameson Taillon and Jordan Montgomery.
