Alistair "The Demolition Man" Overeem is not retiring. Overeem's management team confirmed with Dutch combat sports outlet Main Event NL that 'The Reem' "hasn't stopped yet."

Many MMA media outlets, including ourselves, have reported on Overeem's retirement, but this isn't the case. Overeem's management team clarified that the comments made by Overeem during the 'Lovin' Dubai' interview on June 2 have been misconstrued.

Overeem is in fact done with fighting, he just didn't announce when he'd be done. He still plans to fight one or two more times, which is very likely to take place in GLORY kickboxing since he signed an exclusive contract with the promotion. Since Overeem is facing down a medical suspension until November 2023, the odds are that Overeem will participate in a GLORY heavyweight grand prix for one last shot at championship gold.

At 42 years-of-age, Overeem still hasn't slowed down, going 6-4 in his last 10 UFC fights with one of those losses being a heavily contested TKO to Jairzinho Rozenstruik. "The Demolition Man" returned to kickboxing in October 2022, where he won a comfortable decision against Badr Hari, who is widely regarded as one of the most fearsome strikers in combat sports.
