Ariel Helwani poured out his heart and shared a lot of personal information during Monday’s edition of “The MMA Hour” — his weekly show. At one point he even referenced an event that got “physical” in 2014.

Though Helwani declined to go into specifics about the incident, MMA insider Front Row Brian elaborated on Twitter. He said the allusion by Helwani was to an actual assault on the reporter by a UFC security guard who allegedly was one of Dana White’s bodyguards.

Here’s what Helwani said about the matter:

“Around that time frame, something else happened. That’s the one thing I’m going to skip over for now. That’s the one thing I don’t want to get into. I just don’t feel comfortable. I will say this though — it got physical. And that was hard,” said Helwani, vaguely alluding to some sort of incident.

Here’s what Front Row Brian says happened.

Yes, that is a pretty serious accusation. Reporters getting assaulted by security for asking questions? There has to be something more to this story.
