When Amanda Nunes announced her retirement, she exited the stage almost universally recognized as the greatest female mixed martial artist of all-time.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight and women’s featherweight titleholder completed her stellar career with a 23-5 record and a 74% finishing rate, having cemented herself as a historic figure in combat sports circles. Nunes fought for the final time at UFC 289, where she retained the undisputed women’s bantamweight crown with a five-round unanimous decision over Irena Aldana on June 10. She vacated the title 10 days later, once her exit was made official.
As Nunes’ competitive exploits drift further and further into the rearview mirror, a look at some of the numbers that accompanied her along the way:
35: Years of age for Nunes, who was born on May 30, 1988 in Pojuca, Brazil—a little more than 6,000 miles from UFC headquarters in Las Vegas.
