A potential slugfest is on tap for an upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship event, as Chidi Njokuani will square off against Gregory Rodrigues on Sept 17.

Both fighters confirmed the middleweight booking following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. The card will be headlined by a bantamweight showdown between Cory Sandhagen and Yadong Song but doesn’t have an official location or venue.

A former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion and Bellator veteran, Njokuani enters the matchup on a four-bout winning streak. After earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, “Chidi Bang Bang” has scored consecutive first-round knockouts against Marc-Andre Barriault and Dusko Todorovic in his first two appearances.

Rodrigues, who is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance title holder, has been victorious in five of his last six professional outings. He is 3-1 in UFC competition and is coming off a first-round KO of Julian Marquez at UFC on ESPN 37.
